Meridian company also will unveil a new outdoor gym in Ann Morrison Park

Bodybuilding.com, based in Meridian, is working with area yoga studios for the first official Idaho Health and Yoga Awareness Week, June 3-9, 2013. As part of the festivities, the company also plans a June 6 grand opening for Boise’s first outdoor gym located in Ann Morrison Park.

“We live in an extremely active community,” Bodybuilding.com founder and CEO Ryan DeLuca said.  “And we wanted to build on that spirit by giving everyone a chance to experience the life-changing physical and mental benefits of a gym – for free.”

The grand opening of Boise’s first outdoor gym will take place on Thursday, June 6 at noon.  Bodybuilding.com athletes will be on hand leading free fitness classes that are open to the public.  The first class will take place following the ribbon cutting at noon, with the second class beginning at 5:30 p.m.   To further promote Heath and Yoga Awareness Week, local yoga instructors will lead a cool-down stretch at the end of each class.

Idaho Health and Yoga Awareness Week was created to help all Idahoans develop a healthy lifestyle, lose weight, and prevent disease using yoga as a medium for good health.  The week will serve the community by bringing yoga into Idaho hospitals, schools, community centers and parks. There also will be multiple free yoga classes offered at studios throughout Boise during that week.

Bodybuilding.com is the largest online sports nutrition company in the world. Its goal from the start was to make its Web site the best source for bodybuilding information and interactivity on the Internet while providing the largest online bodybuilding store for quick and easy shopping.  The site opened to the public on April 13, 1999, after six months of development.  Since then, the company has grown to more than 28,000 pages and was recently ranked the most visited bodybuilding and fitness Web site in the world.
