Leadership in Nuclear Energy Commission 3.0 to Hold October Meeting

BOISE, Idaho—Friday, September 29, 2017— The Leadership in Nuclear Energy (LINE) Commission 3.0 is scheduled to meet on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at the College of Southern Idaho (315 Falls Ave, Twin Falls, 83301) in Room #276 (Sage Room) of the Taylor Building from 10:00 a.m. – 3:45 p.m.

 

The meeting agenda includes presentations on Terrestrial Energy, the Transient Reactor Test (TREAT) Facility, and an overview of programs from the College of Southern Idaho. The Commission will also hear from the Department of Energy, the Idaho National Laboratory, and the Subcommittees.

The LINE Commission 3.0 is committed to an open and transparent process where members of the public can observe the Commission’s proceedings. The meeting is open to the public.

 

LINE 3.0 will continue to make recommendations to the Governor on policies and actions of the State of Idaho to support and enhance the long-term viability and mission of the Idaho National Laboratory and other nuclear industries in Idaho. The LINE Commission 2.0 was created by Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter through Executive Order 2013-02, and is charged with implementing and overseeing progress on recommendations from the original LINE Commission (LINE 1.0). Governor Otter extended the work of LINE 1.0 after it completed its initial scope of work. LINE 2.0’s work will focus on the six recommendations and over a dozen proposals for immediate action that were part of the final report the Governor received from the original commission.
