Governor Little Appoints New Member to Idaho Travel Council

BOISE, Idaho (March 3, 2023)—Governor Brad Little has appointed Shawn Barigar, Economic Development Director for the City of Twin Falls, to serve as the Region IV Idaho Travel Council representative for a three-year term. In addition to this appointment, Kayoko Magnus, with the Coeur d’Alene Golf & Spa Resort (Region I), was reappointed for a second three-year term.

Mr. Barigar resides in Twin Falls and has been actively involved in the Magic Valley tourism industry for nearly 20 years. Currently the Economic Development Director for the City of Twin Falls, he was President of the Twin Falls Chamber of Commerce for 18 years and served on the Twin Falls City Council for more than 14 years with four years as Mayor.

Mr. Barigar has served on a variety of boards and councils, including the Idaho Chamber Alliance, Southern Idaho Tourism, Southern Idaho Economic Development Organization and the Idaho Travel Council.

“Mr. Barigar has much knowledge and experience with tourism and economic development in Idaho,” said Idaho Department of Commerce director Tom Kealey. “We were excited that Shawn applied, and we welcome him back to the Idaho Travel Council.”

The Idaho Travel Council’s primary purpose is to advise the Idaho Department of Commerce-Tourism Development activities and programs. The council also awards grants to applicants of the Idaho Regional Travel and Convention Grant Program.
