University of Idaho Extension: Webinar about ASAP

University of Idaho Extension is very pleased to invite you to participate in a Webinar about Area Sector Analysis Process (ASAP), scheduled on September 10, 2015, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm (PST) / 3:00 to 5:00 pm (MST). During this webinar participants will learn about ASAP and will receive guidelines to apply to this program.

ASAP helps achieve sustainable community development. The process is based on the belief that sustainable community development strategies should reflect the preferences of both the community and the businesses in order to be successful.

ASAP assesses:

  1. Community members’ priorities for sustainable development.
  2. How these priorities are met by different types of business sectors.
  3. What different business sectors need in terms of physical, economic, and social infrastructure.
  4. Which infrastructure the community can offer to the businesses.

ASAP combines community members’ priorities with community’s assets and businesses needs and outcomes to produce community desirability and compatibility index for each NAICS business sector. The baseline ASAP is easily modified to create secondary scenarios that provide decision-making tools to compare different community development options.

People interested in attending the webinar should register before September 7, 2015, at https://asapwebinar.eventbrite.com. Please feel free to distribute this announcement to people that may be interested.

We certainly look forward to your presence. If you have questions regarding this event, please do not hesitate to contact Paul A. Lewin or Dolores Garrido through email at ruraldevelopment@uidaho.edu or by phone at (208) 557-8021.
