Sandpoint company is quickly making a name for itself in the firearms industry

Newly formed company Inteliscope, LLC recently announced the launch of its Inteliscope Tactical Rifle Adapter and Apple device application – the world’s first tactical rifle adapter for smartphones. The iPhone application is being submitted to Apple for review and approval.

Inteliscope, LLC was founded earlier this year in Sandpoint by Jason Giddings, who also established TransluSense, LLC – creator of the Luminae® glass multi-touch keyboard and touchpad.  With production facilities in place and TransluSense development continuing, Giddings challenged his mechanical, software and business teams to create the Inteliscope device on an aggressive ten-week schedule.

“We’re ready to get started with what we came to Idaho to do: hire good employees and help the economy of North Idaho,” Giddings said.

Inteliscope products are made up of two parts: a tactical rail mount for an iPhone or iPod and an app that brings critical ballistics and environmental insight to the shooter in real time.  For the launch, the company decided to include all three cases in a single product for Apple devices instead of offering three separate products. Thus, when the customer receives the adapter, it will have cases to fit the iPhone 4/4S, iPhone 5, and iPod Touch version 5.  The Inteliscope mount system attaches an iPhone or iPod Touch securely to any firearm with a Picatinny (Mil-STD-1913) or Weaver tactical rail, which includes a number of features.

The company also is working with Indiegogo, a crowd-funding platform (similar to Kickstarter), to fund development of the app and hardware for Android phones.  If Inteliscope’s campaign is funded, the company plans to have the Android-compatible devices available in August.
