Nothing but good news to report for lodging sales during the prime tourism season 2013.

Lodging tax receipts for the months June-September, which represent sales for the months May-August came in a whopping 9.23 percent over the same months in 2012.

The cumulative tax collection for these four months totaled $8,245,217.54, while the comparable figure for the previous year was $7,548,468.75.

Looking at just the numbers for the Fiscal year which began in July, receipts are up 9.4 percent. Month-by-month collections are:
