State Economic Development and Tourism Advisory Councils to Meet
Idaho Economic Advisory Council and Idaho Travel Council to discuss programs, initiatives, and grant proposals on January 27 & 28
Two statewide advisory councils will meet in Boise, both separately and jointly, to discuss economic development and tourism initiatives.
The Idaho Economic Advisory Council (EAC) will meet from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 27 in the Idaho Department of Commerce Sawtooth Room (J.R. Williams Building, 700 W. State Street, Boise). The agenda includes an update from Idaho Commerce Director Jeff Sayer about the Idaho Tax Reimbursement Incentive, Community Development Block Grant updates and application review, and presentations from the City of Burley and Gooding County. There will also be an application review for the Idaho Tax Reimbursement Incentive. The application review will be held in Executive Session as a result of the proprietary company information that will be discussed, per Idaho Code 67-2345(1)(d) “to review records and information exempt from public disclosure under Idaho Code 9-340D(6) and 67-4708.” Upon approval by EAC, the TRI awards would be announced in coordination with the company’s announcement timeline.
The Idaho Travel Council (ITC) will hold its annual winter meeting from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 28. Items on the agenda include an introduction of new Idaho Travel Council members, ITC grant program updates, and tourism staff updates. There will also be presentations from Vacasa Vacation Rental, Boise CVB, Southwest Idaho Travel Association (SWITA), Boise Airport, and Drake Cooper. The meeting will be held in the East Conference Room on the main floor of the J.R. Williams Building (700 W. State Street, Boise). Idaho Travel Council members will attend the Tourism Grant Summit on January 29 at The Grove Hotel from 8:45 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Both councils will meet jointly on Wednesday, January 28 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Council members from each region will provide updates from their area. The joint meeting will also include a department update from Director Sayer. The meeting will be held in the J.R. Williams Building East Conference Room (700 W. State Street, Boise).
