State Seeks Nominees for Recreation and Tourism Award
Lifetime Achievement Award winner will be selected by the Governor. 

BOISE, Idaho – July 11, 2018 – Nominations are open for outstanding lifetime achievement in the fields of Idaho recreation and tourism. Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter will select a nominated individual for recognition who has made significant contributions to developing, managing or conserving Idaho’s recreation resources, or developing, managing or promoting tourism in Idaho. The award will be presented in October during the Idaho State Conference on Recreation and Tourism in Pocatello.

The annual conference is sponsored by tourism-related organizations and partners to provide an industry forum for public, private and non-profit travel professionals throughout Idaho. This year’s conference will be held October 16-18 at the Mountain View Event Center and Clarion Inn in Pocatello.

Tourism consistently ranks within the top five industries in Idaho and continues to grow. Idaho lodging tax collections are up 11.22 percent over fiscal 2017, with total collections over $12.4 million.
