Leadership in Nuclear Energy Commission 2.0 to Hold July Meeting
BOISE, Idaho—July 9, 2014—The Leadership in Nuclear Energy (LINE) Commission 2.0 is scheduled to meet on Monday, July 13, 2015 in the Idaho State Capitol Lincoln Auditorium (700 W. Jefferson, Boise, Idaho).
The LINE Commission 2.0 will meet from 9:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. The meeting agenda will include status updates from the U.S. Department of Energy, a report from the LINE 2.0 Commission’s Safety & Environment subcommittee, discussion on research quantities and the linkage between the Idaho National Laboratory and cleanup, and a report on the Innovation in Nuclear Workshop.
The LINE Commission 2.0 is committed to an open and transparent process where members of the public can observe the Commission’s proceedings. The July 13 meeting is open to the public. For those unable to attend in person, the meeting can be viewed via live audio streaming through Idaho Legislature Live (select the link for the Lincoln Auditorium). A link for Android and iOS mobile users also will be active.
The LINE Commission 2.0 was created by Governor Otter through Executive Order 2013-02, and is charged with implementing and overseeing progress on recommendations from the original LINE Commission (LINE 1.0). Governor Otter extended the work of LINE 1.0 after it completed its initial scope of work. LINE 2.0’s work will focus on the six recommendations and over a dozen proposals for immediate action that were part of the final report the Governor received from the original commission.
