Idaho Power Announces Site Readiness Evaluation Program in Partnership with the Idaho Department of Commerce

Two kick-off events will take place in Pocatello/Chubbuck and Boise/Meridia

Boise, Idaho—Monday, May 11, 2015—Idaho Power, in partnership with the Idaho Department of Commerce, today announced a new Site Readiness Evaluation Program to aid economic development in Idaho.

The objective of the program is to increase both the available inventory and the readiness of sites for industrial development and to further support the economic development efforts underway by economic development organizations (EDO) in communities served by Idaho Power.

“We are thrilled to kick-off this program with a great partner in Idaho Power and with our economic development professionals around the state,” said Idaho Commerce Director Jeffery Sayer. “Based on feedback we’ve received from site selectors about what the leading economic development organizations around the country are doing, implementing this recognized best practice in our own state will elevate Idaho’s site selection profile and keep us running at the speed of business.”

“This is a terrific new program for our customers and for Idaho, and together with the Department of Commerce and our local economic development officials we expect to have a positive impact on the communities we serve,” said Darrel Anderson, President and CEO of Idaho Power. “We have a lot to offer new and existing business customers with lower rates than many states, energy efficiency programs to save money and experts to consult along the way.”

There will be two events to learn more about the site-readiness program and find out how to participate. Attendees will include economic development professionals, EDO board members, city and county economic development officials and chamber of commerce leadership.

Events will take place at these locations:

Idaho Central Credit Union Corporate Headquarters
Chubbuck
Tuesday, May 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

and

Courtyard by Marriott
Meridian
Wed., May 20, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
