Idaho Economic Advisory Council Announces January 2018 Meeting |
BOISE, Idaho—Tuesday, January 9, 2018— The Idaho Economic Advisory Council (EAC) will meet on Tuesday, January 23 at 9:00 a.m. to review a Tax Reimbursement Incentive application as well as discuss Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) budget and review project and application updates. The Council will also get a legislative update from Idaho Commerce Director Meuleman, and hear an overview on the TRI legislation and scoring process. The meeting will be held in at the Department of Commerce in the J.R. Williams Building Sawtooth Conference Room on the Second Floor (700 W. State Street, Boise).
The TRI application review will be held in Executive Session as a result of the proprietary company information that will be discussed, pursuant to Idaho Code 74-206(1)(d) to review records exempt from public disclosure under Idaho Code Sections 74-107(1), 74-107(6), and/or 67-4708. Upon approval by EAC, the TRI awards would be announced in coordination with the companies’ announcement timeline. View the full agenda here. The Idaho Economic Advisory Council advises the Governor and the Idaho Department of Commerce on goals and objectives that further economic development within the state. The council makes recommendations to the Governor on applications for block grant funding and reviews industrial revenue bond allocations. Additionally, council members advise their regions on economic development opportunities and represent their interests to state government. Beginning July 1, 2014, the Economic Advisory Council also gained statutory oversight authority for the new Idaho Tax Reimbursement Incentive. The council reviews and grants final approval for refundable credits on income, sales and payroll taxes of up to 30 percent for up to 15 years to qualifying new or expanding Idaho businesses.
