State Economic Development and Tourism Advisory Councils to Meet

Idaho Economic Advisory Council and Idaho Travel Council to discuss programs, initiatives, and grant proposals on January 26 & 27

BOISE, Idaho—Tuesday, January 20, 2016—Two statewide advisory councils will meet in Boise, both separately and jointly, to discuss economic development and tourism initiatives.

The Idaho Economic Advisory Council (EAC) will meet from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 26 in the Idaho Department of Commerce Clearwater Room (J.R. Williams Building, 700 W. State Street, Boise) and again on Wednesday, January 27 from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Commerce Sawtooth Room. The agenda includes an update from the new Idaho Commerce Director Megan Ronk, tours of approved Tax Reimbursement Incentive projects in the Boise area, updates on Community Development Block Grants and application review, and presentations from Sugar City and Middleton. There will also be an application review for the Idaho Tax Reimbursement Incentive. The application review will be held in Executive Session as a result of the proprietary company information that will be discussed, per Idaho Code 67-2345(1)(d) “to review records and information exempt from public disclosure under Idaho Code 9-340D(6) and 67-4708.” Upon approval by EAC, the TRI awards would be announced in coordination with the company’s announcement timeline.

The Idaho Travel Council (ITC) will hold its annual winter meeting from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 26 in the West Conference Room on the main floor of the J.R. Williams Building. Items on the agenda include updates on the ITC grants and other tourism programs, as well as a Tourism Grant Summit. There will also be presentations from Bogus Basin, JUMP (Jack’s Urban Meeting Place), Boise Centre, and Drake Cooper.

Both councils will meet jointly on Wednesday, January 27 from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30a.m. Council members from each region will provide updates from their area. The meeting will be held in the J.R. Williams Building East Conference Room (700 W. State Street, Boise).
