Idaho Broadband Advisory Board Announces First Meeting
BOISE, Idaho (May 25, 2021) – The Idaho Broadband Advisory Board will meet on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. MST.
The Idaho Broadband Advisory Board was created within the Idaho Department of Commerce by the Idaho Legislature in 2021 through House Bill 127. The board consists of three members from the Idaho House of Representatives, three from the Idaho Senate and three appointed by the Governor.
The board is responsible for creating a statewide broadband plan for structuring, prioritizing and dispersing grants from the Idaho Broadband Fund. The Idaho Broadband Fund will consist of funds appropriated by the legislature for financial assistance of broadband infrastructure in Idaho to promote equal access in economic development, public safety, telehealth and education.
The public is encouraged to participate remotely or attend in person. The meeting will be held in the JR Williams Building, East Conference Room, located at 700 W. State Street in Boise. Due to reduced seating capacity, there will be limited in-person seating available to the public.
