Fabiola McClellan Retires
Fabiola officially retired from ATTEND Marketing on June 30, 2024. ATTEND Marketing was hired as the Idaho-Mexico representative in 2017. The departments of Agriculture and Commerce will retain ATTEND Marketing’s services in Mexico under the leadership of Vanessa Salcido and Beatriz Sánchez. The State of Idaho thanks Fabiola McClellan for her dedicated service and contributions to help strengthen the relationships between Mexico and Idaho.
Idaho-Mexico Office Assumes New Leadership
Beatriz Sanchez, Commerce
Beatriz Sanchez joined ATTEND Marketing in 2023. She has engaged in private consulting projects and held the role of Commercial Operations Director for Latin America at WWE Properties Int’l., overseeing marketing, media distribution, consumer products, and live events partnerships across the region.
Between 2001 and 2017, her tenure at Hasbro Mexico as Consumer Products Head and at 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment Mexico as Marketing Director, further underscore her track record of driving significant business growth through innovative marketing initiatives, strategic planning, and effective team leadership.
With previous experience at Disney Consumer Products in Mexico and Latin America, as well as at Mattel Toys Mexico, Beatriz brings deep expertise in brand management and market development. She holds an MBA from Universidad Iberoamericana and a Bachelor’s in Administration from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de Mexico (ITAM).
Vanessa Salcido, Agriculture
Vanessa has worked for ATTEND Marketing and the Idaho-Mexico Trade Office as a project manager for six years, bringing her strong experience in the agricultural sector. She worked for the Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) in the Agricultural Trade Office (ATO) in Mexico City as an Agriculture Marketing Specialist for almost 8 years.
Prior to FAS, she worked for Kraft Foods in their Research and Development center, first in Chicago, Illinois and then in Mexico City as an associate scientist for the Global Technology and Quality division for almost 3 years. She holds a master’s degree in nutrition communication from Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts, and a Bachelor’s degree in nutrition and food science from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City.
New Part-Time Office in Japan
The State of Idaho has hired SEGMAR RESEARCH LLC to represent Idaho part-time in Japan.
SEGMAR RESEARCH LLC is experienced in research and consultation services in the agribusiness sector, including agricultural and food products as well as promotional support for entering the Japanese market.
Ivan Cardenas, Tokyo Office President
Born in Peru to Japanese descendants, Ivan Cardenas has lived in Japan since he was 13. He has experience working for the Japan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and an extensive background in food and agriculture.
Ivan is a native speaker of Japanese and Spanish and is also fluent in English. He received a masters degree from the Graduate School of International Development, Nagoya University, Japan.
