Governor Little, Idaho Commerce Participate in SHOT Show 2019

BOISE, Idaho (February 5, 2019) — Governor Brad Little and Idaho Commerce attended the National Shooting Sports Foundation Shooting, Hunting, Outdoor Trade Show (SHOT Show) January 22-25 in Las Vegas.

Governor Little and the Idaho Commerce team supported nearly 75 Idaho companies participating in the show and hosted Idaho’s annual SHOT Show Reception at the Sands Exposition Center.

According to the Outdoor Industry Association, outdoor recreation is a $7.8 billion industry in Idaho and accounts for over 78,000 direct jobs.

“It was a great opportunity to visit face to face with the dozens of Idaho companies showcasing their products, stories, and innovative thinking with the world at Shot Show,” Governor Little said. “With Idaho’s endless outdoor opportunities and perfect testing grounds for world class products, it’s no surprise we have so many companies thriving in the rec-tech, safety and security, and defense industries right in our own backyard.”

Jeff Spalding, general manager of Boise-based firearms manufacturer Caracal USA, said he appreciates the support of Idaho Commerce and the state’s Governors, both past and present.

“It is an honor and a privilege to be a part of the growing firearm, hunting and general outdoor industry in Idaho,” said Jeff. “We made the decision to establish operations here based on the tremendous support we received early on. The state’s commitment to our industry and willingness to be available to us at SHOT Show 2019 truly shows that we made the right decision.”

Idaho companies attending SHOT Show produce a wide variety of products from apparel to rifle scopes, knives to lighting, coolers to suppressors, and more. For a list of Idaho SHOT Show exhibitors, click here.

“As a company deeply rooted in the traditions of the American outdoors, we really appreciate Governor Little,” said Glen Eberle, owner of Eberlestock. “His visit during SHOT Show and his continued support of Idaho companies and the 2nd Amendment, show that he stands where we stand.”

To provide additional opportunities for networking and client engagement, Idaho Commerce organized the Idaho SHOT Show Reception for nearly 200 guests with the help of sponsorships and donations from 20 Idaho companies and partner organizations.
