Recently unbranded from Best Western, the Lodge prides itself on its knowledgeable staff and first-class amenities.

BOISE, Idaho—Monday, March 18, 2013— Salmon Rapids Lodge – the premiere hotel in Riggins, Idaho – announced on February 21 that it has become an independent, non-franchise property.  The 55-room lodge has been family owned and operated since its opening in 2000.

“Being an independent property gives us the freedom to focus on services unique to the Salmon River area,” said President Mike DeBoer. “Our goal is to invest in the amenities that highlight our unique, remote location.”

The owners and staff at Salmon Rapids Lodge understand that people come to Riggins for an exclusive experience.  Many visitors are intrigued by not only the small town atmosphere, but by the beautiful surrounding area.  Salmon Rapids Lodge also gives visitors to Riggins the ability to arrange their entire stay in Salmon River country with one phone call.  The local knowledge of the lodge staff allows them to add raft and jet boat excursions, fishing trips, scenic hikes, and even horseback riding to a guest’s lodging reservation.  The jet boats can take visitors to the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness area or into Hells Canyon, the deepest canyon in the nation.

As with many unique lodging properties, word of mouth has always been the lodge’s best advertising.  It continues to serve regular visitors as well as those coming to the area for the first time.  The lodge’s event and meeting services, coupled with the knowledgeable staff, has enabled the hotel to become an information center in Riggins.

Riggins residents and visitors alike come to the lodge for events, corporate retreats and more. In fact, it has been the primary event center in the area since it opened.  However, the city of Riggins will soon have a community center, which will provide another venue for various meetings and events.  Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter recently awarded the city a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) for $150,000 to renovate the Odd Fellows Hall into a community and event center.

Riggins enjoys a warmer climate than most of Idaho, and with the first-class amenities and services provided by the lodge, the city is a great choice for vacation destinations year-round.
