The City of Marsing, in collaboration with the Marsing School District and Owyhee Health Coalition, has just completed a brand-new outdoor fitness court.
The city was identified as lacking fitness programs and opportunities especially for younger members of the community. The community made it a priority to pursue the creation of an outdoor fitness court that would encourage healthy lifestyles and increase the fitness of the surrounding area.
This project was funded by multiple sources including from Idaho Commerce, the Active Association of Retired Persons, the National Fitness Campaign, and the local community. Through the combined efforts of all these organizations the Owyhee Outdoor Fitness Court has been completed and has state-of-the-art equipment that will allow the community to get fit!

The new fitness court.
The court has multiple unique features that allow a versatile and unique workout experience. With its proximity to the school district, the younger members of Owyhee County will have access to its services and can get in shape for sports, P.E. classes, or just for fun.
This project was possible through the Idaho Gem Grant which is a program for rural communities to receive funding for economic development related projects. The city of Marsing received the maximum award of $50,000, allowing them to complete this project. Any rural community in Idaho is eligible for the Gem Grant program, click here to learn more.
