The new Eagle company has a patent-pending design for organizing and packing outdoor gear

BillieRacks, a new company based in Eagle, has designed a patent-pending sports rack that is designed specifically for pickup truck beds. The company manufactures rolling rack systems that help users efficiently organize and store bikes, outdoor gear, work tools and cargo. The BillieRack doesn’t take up the full pickup bed – leaving room for other items – and then folds up and out of the way to leave the entire bed open.

Co-founders Kurt Barats and Mark Patton began developing the BillieRacks system in late 2010.  Their intent has been to grow the company organically, and with that philosophy in mind Barats and Patton have been selling locally in the Treasure Valley.  Recently, the team has ramped up production and sales efforts to support a western U.S. distribution strategy.

“As long-time truck owners and avid outdoor enthusiasts, we know how frustrating it is to constantly crawl in and out of your truck bed to get that piece of gear or equipment you need,” said Patton. “With the BillieRack, managing your bikes, tools, cargo and outdoor equipment is as easy as opening and closing your tailgate.”

BillieRacks offers eight industry-unique sport and cargo racks with accompanying rack accessories, and is scheduled to introduce several new products this summer.  Barats and Patton know the value of well-designed, reliable products that can be counted on time after time.  The company was founded on those principles and it is what continues to drive the company’s designs and commitment to quality.

“The market acceptance has been very positive, which puts us in a good position to scale the business,” Patton said.
