Troy-based company continues to add new, exciting products each year

Potting Shed Creations, Ltd., located in Troy, is releasing a new line of holiday products in July.  Included in the line are Paperwhite and Christmas Tree Grow Bottles™, a new Moss + Sedum Terrarium Bottle™, and a new Crepe Myrtle Bonsai Box™.   The new products, as with all Potting Shed Creations products, are made from reclaimed materials, including restaurant wine bottles and recycled U.S. steel.

Potting Shed Creations was founded in 1998 and the company started out as the proverbial garage business, designing and manufacturing a wide range of garden gift products.  Today, it has grown into a company with international brand recognition and customers ranging from National Geographic and Barnes & Noble to Nordstrom and Crate & Barrel.  Potting Shed products are sold throughout the United States and Canada as well as Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Austria, Germany and the Netherlands.

The Potting Shed Creations philosophy is that style and substance are not mutually exclusive, and its goal is to offer products in which the finest materials, elegant design and handmade craftsmanship converge to inspire a fresh approach to gardening.  The handmade products truly are made by hand – every container is assembled, every seed pouch is filled, every bow is tied and every label is carefully placed by hand, one at a time, using only the finest ingredients and materials – making each product truly exceptional and unique.

Potting Shed Creations products range from organic culinary seed collections to bonsai box gardens and terrarium bottles, with additional product lines for children and pets.  The Grow Bottle™ is made from reclaimed restaurant wine bottles and uses simple hydroponics to grow culinary herbs year-round: the top portion of bottle inverts and nests into bottom, a natural wool wick is threaded through the neck and draws up nutrient rich water from the base of the bottle to the seed.

Potting Shed Creations has also appeared in many diverse publications, both in the United States and internationally, including Time Magazine, The New York Times, Bon Appetit and The Oprah Magazine.  The products also have been chosen in a juried sustainability design competition at the New York International Gift Show for the past six years running, with the Grow Bottle™ recently winning the Eco-Choice Award for Most Innovative Product.
