Idaho Travel Council to Meet May 4-5 in Boise

The meeting precedes the Idaho Conference on Recreation and Tourism

Boise, Idaho—April 28, 2015—The Idaho Travel Council will meet in Boise on Monday, May 4, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Tuesday, May 5 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at The Riverside Hotel.

The Council agenda includes budget and grant updates and a review of the grant presentation process followed by grant presentations. Grant presentations will conclude on Tuesday. The public is welcome to attend.

The Idaho Conference on Recreation and Tourism (ICORT) will be held at The Riverside Hotel in Boise on May 5-7 during National Travel and Tourism Week. Organizers expect over 170 Idaho lodging property owners and managers, outfitters and guides, tourism industry professionals and recreation providers to attend the conference to share ideas and learn about new opportunities to market themselves. The opening reception for the Idaho Conference on Recreation and Tourism – Idaho Small Bites – begins at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5 and features an all-Idaho menu, live entertainment and presentation of the Governor’s Lifetime Achievement in Recreation and Tourism award and the Idaho Bed & Breakfast Association’s Bonzey Award for Inn-Spirational Innkeeper.

Growing Idaho’s economy by increasing visitor expenditures throughout the state is the goal of the Idaho Travel Council and the Idaho Department of Commerce – Tourism Development.

The Idaho Travel Council is an eight-member, private-sector advisory board appointed by the Governor. Members include:
