State Economic Development and Tourism Advisory Councils to Meet
Idaho Economic Advisory Council and Idaho Travel Council to discuss programs, initiatives, and grant proposals on January 22 & 23
BOISE, Idaho—Wednesday, January 15, 2014—Two statewide advisory councils will meet in Boise, both separately and jointly, to discuss economic development and tourism initiatives.
The Idaho Economic Advisory Council will meet from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 22 to review fifteen Community Development Block Grant applications for job creation, public facilities, and downtown revitalization. Staff will also provide the Economic Advisory Council with updates on a variety of Idaho Commerce initiatives. The meeting will be held in the Idaho Department of Commerce Sawtooth Room (J.R. Williams Building, 700 W. State Street, Boise, Idaho).
The Idaho Travel Council will hold its annual winter meeting from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 22. Items on the agenda include an introduction of new Commerce staff members, ITC grant program updates, winter marketing campaign, Drake Cooper agency updates and the prime season media plan. There will also be presentations from the Idaho Outfitters and Guides Association, Boise Airport, Idaho Ski Area Associations, and Boise Whitewater Park. The meeting will be held in the West Conference Room on the main floor of the J.R. Williams Building (700 W. State Street, Boise, Idaho).
Both councils will meet jointly on January 23 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Council members from each region will provide updates from their area. The joint meeting will also include a department update from Idaho Commerce Director Jeff Sayer. The meeting will be held in the in the J.R. Williams Building East Conference Room (700 W. State Street, Boise).
