Idaho Travel Council Announces October Meeting

BOISE, Idaho—October 11, 2016—The Idaho Travel Council (ITC) will meet at The Red Lion Hotel Boise Downtowner in Boise on Tuesday, October 18 and Wednesday, October 19.

On Tuesday, the Council will hear updates from Idaho Commerce and Idaho Tourism, including grant program updates. The agenda also includes a presentation by the Idaho Tax Commission addressing the state travel and convention tax.

On Wednesday, Idaho Tourism will host its annual grant summit for current Idaho Regional Travel and Convention Grant Program recipients and those interested in applying for a grant in the future. The agenda includes grant updates with Q & A, and presentations from media and promotional partners. Idaho Travel Council members will be in attendance.

Created in 1981, the Idaho Regional Travel and Convention Grant Program is funded through a two percent lodging tax collected by Idaho hotels, motels, vacation rentals and private campgrounds on the sale of rooms and camping sites.  For more information on the IRTC Grant Program, click here.

Growing Idaho’s economy by increasing visitor expenditures throughout the state is the goal of the Idaho Travel Council and the Idaho Department of Commerce – Tourism Development.  The Idaho Travel Council is an eight-member, private-sector advisory board appointed by Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter.
