Leadership in Nuclear Energy Commission 2.0 to Hold January Meeting

BOISE, Idaho—Tuesday, January 10, 2017— The Leadership in Nuclear Energy (LINE) Commission 2.0 is scheduled to meet on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at the Idaho State Capitol (700 West Jefferson Street, Boise) in the Lincoln Auditorium from 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

The meeting agenda includes an update from the Office of Nuclear Energy Programs and Transition, presentations on NEAC; Naval Reactors; the Cleanup Process from the Department of Energy; and Small Modular Reactors. Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter will give remarks to the commission before a Settlement Agreement 101 Panel and a Discussion on Subcommittee Structure and Future Commission Activities in the afternoon.

The LINE Commission 2.0 was created by Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter through Executive Order 2013-02, and is charged with implementing and overseeing progress on recommendations from the original LINE Commission (LINE 1.0). Governor Otter extended the work of LINE 1.0 after it completed its initial scope of work. LINE 2.0’s work will focus on the six recommendations and over a dozen proposals for immediate action that were part of the final report the Governor received from the original commission.
