Idaho, eight other states and the District of Columbia launched the most businesses in 2007, according to a report released Thursday. The upsurge in entrepreneurs starting new businesses was closely tied with stronger economic and population growth, says Robert Fairlie, and economics professor at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and co-author of the annual report on entrepreneurs by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation.
