Leadership in Nuclear Energy Commission Announces January 25 Meeting Agenda

BOISE, Idaho—January 22, 2013—The Leadership in Nuclear Energy (LINE) Commission is scheduled to meet on Friday, January 25, 2013, at the Idaho State Capitol Auditorium (700 W. Jefferson, Boise, Idaho).  

The LINE Commission was created by Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter through Executive Order 2012-01, and is charged with making recommendations to the Governor on policies and actions of the state of Idaho to support and enhance the long-term viability and mission relevance of the Idaho National Laboratory and the broader nuclear industry in the state.    

The LINE Commission will meet from 9:00 p.m. to 11:30 a.m.  The meeting agenda will include a review of the public comments received in response to the LINE Commission’s Progress Report, an update on the U.S. Department of Energy’s response to the Blue Ribbon Commission Report, and an overview of the Commission’s proposed recommendations.  The LINE Commission is due to submit its final report to the Governor by January 31, 2013.  

The LINE Commission is committed to an open and transparent process where members of the public can observe the Commission’s proceedings.  The January 25 meeting is open to the public.  For those unable to attend in person, the LINE Commission meeting can be viewed via live video streaming through Idaho Legislature Live (select the link for the Auditorium).  A link for Android and iOS mobile users will also be active.
