IGEM Council Announces December 10 Meeting Agenda

12/5/2012

BOISE, Idaho—December 5, 2012—The Idaho Global Entrepreneurial Mission (IGEM) Council is scheduled to meet on Monday, December 10, 2012, at the Idaho Department of Commerce (J.R. Williams Building, 2nd floor, 700 W. State St., Boise, Idaho).

One of the primary responsibilities of the IGEM Council is to develop a statewide strategic plan to foster innovation. The Council also oversees the Idaho Global Entrepreneurial Mission Grant Fund, which includes $950,000 appropriated by the Idaho State Legislature for grants. IGEM Grant Funds will leverage private-industry guidance and the talent and expertise of Idaho’s research universities to commercialize innovative and viable technologies that will strengthen Idaho’s economy, create more job opportunities in our communities and meet the Governor’s Project 60 goals.

The IGEM Council will meet from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The meeting agenda will include a recap of the Council’s meeting with the Director of the Utah Science Technology and Research (USTAR) Director in late November, along with updates on a variety of other projects the Council is engaged with. Commission members will also break out to meet in their respective subcommittees for more in-depth discussion.
