The Snow Gods are Shining on Schweitzer Mountain Resort - The Best Snow Conditions in the US

Sandpoint, Idaho – Schweitzer Mountain Resort opened the full mountain today giving skiers and riders 2900 acres of terrain to enjoy, which is currently the most available in-bounds terrain in the country.   “We have some of the best snow conditions in the U.S. thanks to the 88 inches of snow that has already fallen this season”, said Schweitzer President and CEO Tom Chasse.  

While many ski areas around the U.S. have had a rough early season, the snow gods have shined upon Schweitzer. Schweitzer’s current snowpack mimics mid-season conditions with a base depth of 32 inches and a summit depth of 57 inches.   “Everything is falling into place for a jam-packed holiday season at Schweitzer”, said Mary Weber-Quinn, Schweitzer’s Village Events and Activities Director. “The combination of above average snowfall, fun events, and our Grand Christmas Tree in the village sets Schweitzer up for a fun and festive holiday season.”
