Idaho Financial Analyst Wins National Award, Reflecting The State's Fiscal Responsibility

8/25/2011
Idaho has a great reputation as a fiscally responsible state.  With a constitutional amendment to balance the budget each year and a government who understands the importance of managing the tax payer's money wisely, it's no wonder that the people who manage the state's finances are receiving national recognition.

David Hahn, a senior financial management analyst with the Idaho Division of Financial Management was recently awarded the George A. Bell Award from the National Association of State Budget Officers.

The award announcement lists, "outstanding contributions and service to public budgeting and management in state government," as just one of the reasons Hahn received this prestigious accolade.

Hahn is the DFM's budget team leader and helps balance the books for constitutional officers, the Tax Commission, the legislative branch, the military division and more.  He also was instrumental in implementing Idaho's zero-based budgeting policy.
