Idaho Tourism Showcases Panoramic Views of Gem State

1/26/2010
Boise, Idaho (January 26, 2010)-The Idaho Division of Tourism has partnered with Boise-based Regal 360 to launch web-based, panoramic virtual tours, adding to an already impressive list of digital capabilities.

Using Regal 360’s state-of-the-art virtual tour technology, the program will showcase and promote locations throughout the state in dynamic, 360 degree panoramic views. Taken together, the program will be featured on an interactive map on www.visitidaho.org/360tours and will include the state’s seven points of interest, as well as many co-op partners.

Each of the state’s 7 travel regions are showcased. The sites selected for videoing and production were:
Pend Oreille-Northern Idaho
Salmon River-North Central Idaho
Idaho Vineyard-Southwestern Idaho
City of Rocks-South Central Idaho
Bear Lake-Southeastern Idaho
Teton Valley-Eastern Idaho
Redfish Lake-Central Idaho

“This is an engaging way to showcase the state to people who have no idea what we have to offer,” said Karen Ballard, Administrator for the Division of Tourism. “This new technology is another cool tool to help us illustrate the beauty of Idaho and how comprehensive our scenery and amenities can be."

In addition to the immersive experiences on the web, the photographs will be incorporated into the state’s other tourism programs, including the Official State Travel Guide and various social media channels.
