Idaho Conference on Recreation and Tourism to be Held in Sun Valley

3/30/2009
Annual Event will focus on social media and research.

The Idaho Conference on Recreation and Tourism will be held at the Sun Valley Resort, May 5-7.

This annual conference is designed for Idaho lodging property owners and managers, outfitters and guides, and other tourism industry professionals and recreation providers throughout the state to come together to share ideas and learn about new opportunities in which to market themselves.

“The Conference on Tourism is always a great way to network with others, see what’s new in the industry and learn about what the Division of Tourism is doing to promote Idaho,” said Karen Ballard, Administrator for the Idaho Division of Tourism Development.

This year’s program will encourage attendees to green up their lives and get on the social media bandwagon. Other topics of interest will include new research findings about the Idaho traveler presented by Longwood’s Research as well as some of the latest trends in travel.

Conference attendees will have the opportunity to tour a variety of regional attractions including Craters of the Moon National Monument and the Sawtooth National Forest, play a round at White Clouds Golf Course, enjoy a great meal at one of several Sun Valley restaurants or take in an extra breakout session.

Keynote speaker Karen Purves will amuse the audience with informative tips on greening up one’s personal and professional life.

Take Pride in Idaho Awards will be presented at the Governor’s Luncheon on May 8. Nomination forms can be downloaded by clicking here. Deadline is April 10.
