Commercial Innovation Division

The Commercial Innovation Division focuses on developing Idaho’s innovation industry and applying technology to Idaho businesses. The division’s responsibilities include setting goals for state innovation industry development, supporting the expansion of technology companies, building partnerships and programs. Through leveraging federal, state, and local resources, the division is able to expand existing innovation companies within the state and attract new companies to create jobs and strengthen local Idaho communities. Because Idaho is the highest ranked state in patents per capita and innovation firms make up more than 25% of Idaho’s gross domestic product, the Commercial Innovation Division plays a vital role in sustaining Idaho’s continued economic success.
