The three-year-old Boise-based company is raising the bar for corporate and non-profit events throughout Idaho and beyond

Sona Productions, the company that is responsible for coordinating events such as Idaho Business Review’s Women of the Year and Top 40 Under 40, now is planning the Grand Opening VIP night for the new Village at Meridian Shopping Center in mid-October.  The Sona team was chosen by CenterCal, a property development company with projects around the country, not only because of their experience working with similar firms, but also because of their custom approach and unique ideas.

”I love that I was able to gain experience in event production in California and bring the quality and creativity I utilized there to my hometown of Boise, Idaho,” said Danielle Snelson, owner of Sona Productions.

When Snelson started the company in 2010, she recognized a need in the Boise area for high-quality, custom events.  Utilizing her experience as an event producer in Southern California, she set about bringing this level of service to local non-profit and corporate clients.  Over the past three years, she has not only added employees, she also has grown her client base to include such big names as Glanbia Foods and the US Tennis Association, with events throughout Idaho and beyond.

“I am excited about getting to a place where I am able to grow and actively pursue new opportunities outside of local markets,” said Snelson.

The special events industry has grown enormously in the past decade.  According to recent industry research, annual spending for special events worldwide is $500 billion. The industry’s good health can be attributed to the improved economy and the trend of corporate America outsourcing event planning tasks.  The particular type of event production used by Sona Productions combines the essential logistical coordination of event planning with the creative design-oriented vision of experiential planning.  In short, event production is the whole package – it takes into account event basics such as food, drink, décor and entertainment, while also focusing on such details as guest movement and program development.

Sona Productions is a full-scale event production company, building brands through dynamic special events that are highly customized and results-oriented.  Each event is unique and focuses on the client’s return on investment, whether through attendance, revenue and/or enthusiasm.  The involvement of an event producer allows clients to focus on their full-time job during the planning phase, as well as network and mingle at the actual event versus managing details during the event itself.
