Economic & Rural/Community Development Responsibilities:

  • Assist with research for community and economic development programs
  • Research and develop a foreign direct investment study
  • Assist in the collection and analysis of growth related challenges in Idaho and solutions that work in Idaho and other states
  • Assist in the development of community leadership curriculum
  • Collect and organize community development best practices data that can be shared statewide
  • Market the Rural Community Peer to Peer Grant Program and assist in administering small grants
  • Assist in the preparations for upcoming international Trade Promotional Events.
  • Responsible for assisting with seminars, publications, and other International Projects geared toward helping companies market and export their products and services.
  • Work with the Boise Branch Office Chief for the U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service (US & FCS) Federal Export Programs to become familiar with the US & FCS services.
  • Assist in making arrangements, scheduling business calls and developing itineraries for International Visitors from foreign government offices and businesses.

  • Physical and data migration
  • Assist in writing letters, press releases and stories related to various tourism subjects
  • Assist in conducting updates to division database records such as chamber of commerce contacts, attractions information, etc
  • Assist in preparation of conference events
  • Catalogue photographic files for film & tourism industry marketing

  • Resumé of work, volunteer, extracurricular or other experience
  • Cover letter explaining which division you are interested in and your reason for wanting to participate in the program
  • Two letters of recommendation (if submitting by e-mail, please have author of letter e-mail directly or submit a signed copy)

    You may apply for more than one division, just indicate your interest in your cover letter.
